How to measure
Thank you for considering Alphapelli for your leather needs.
Leather is a natural product. All top grain leathers contain natural markings, which are the hallmarks of genuine leather. Most leather is sold as full hides and measured in square feet. Each cowhide varies in shape, size and yield. It is rarely possible for us to ship you exactly the number of square feet you request, but we do try to come as close as possible.
If you need very large cuttings you may need additional hides. Often you must choose if you want us to go a little over or a little under the footage you had originally requested.
When ordering, estimate 18 square feet of leather for each yard of 54" fabric required. (18 square feet leather = 1 yard of 54 inch fabric). This takes into account any waste you will have due to the irregular shape and natural markings of the leather. (See the conversion chart below.)
